Synopsis

'Giri' is a movie involving faction feuds between two neighboring villages. The hero Action King Arjun has two ladies for company, Reema Sen and Kuthu fame Ramya. Arjun comes from the village to the city seeking a job. There he meets the glamorous Reema Sen who falls in love with him. She tries to woo him but Arjun does not respond. He has certain responsibilities back home and and Kuthu fame Ramya is waiting to get married to him.

Director Sundar C. says "My earlier comedy movies have received good response from the audience since humour forms an essential part of a lay man's life. Arjun being the Action King, I cannot give an out and right comedy film. So, Giri is a humourous one with the right mix of action and romance."

After Swarnamukhi, Prakash Raj and Devyani are coming together for this film. Most of the shooting of the film took place in Kumbakonam, Pollachi and the climax was shot on the backwaters of Cochin. For this purpose, there was a boat race with Arjun, Anandraj and FEFSI Vijayan and some 400 junior artistes. A car chase involving the three of them was also shot. The songs were shot in Thailand. Cinematography is by K S Selvaraj.
