Synopsis:
'Monalisa' directed and produced by Indrajit Lankesh it has everything that is needed for a successful commercial film from sentiment to comedy to glamour, item dances, stunt and exotic locations. Original Kannada movie is a super hit. A separate comedy track was shot on Brahmanandam and Kovai Sarala exclusively for the film. The film had also completed the post-production formalities like dubbing, editing, songs mixing and other activities.

Director Lankesh says, 'We have shot some comedy skits on Brahmanandam and Kovai Sarala to suit the Telugu nativity. Our film Monalisa had created new records in Kannada film industry. The audio got a tremendous response in Kannada. I predict that the same success story would repeat in Telugu as well. When compared, the Telugu version is more enjoyable than in Kannada. Our hero Dhyan had achieved two successes in Kanada and one in Hindi also. I believe that Dhyan would get good opportunities in Telugu after the release of our film and he would have a bright future here.'

Title of the film goes with the name of the heroine. She looks beautiful when she smiles. Dhyan, an anti-arranged marriage youngster has the dream of marring an attire mod girl! At last he meets his dream girl Monalisa (Sada) and falls in love with her. Monalisa leave the country just before Dhyan mentions about his love to his mother. Soon he receives the message of her death. His parents force him to tie knot to another girl Spandana (Sada) who is look-alike to Monalisa. Dhyan fails to fulfill his responsibilities as a husband.
