Synopsis
Krishna Vamsi is making a magnum opus called Sri Anjaneyam with Nitin and Charmi in the main leads. Krishna Vamsi directs and produces this film on 'Karthikeya' films banner. Sri Anjaneyam is the first line of a stanza (dandakam) used for praising Lord Anjaneya. The hero in this film is a fanatic devotee of Lord Anjaneya. After seeing his loyalty to Lord Anjaneya, the village men start calling him 'Anji'. Vamsi wanted an actor who possesses qualities of divinity, authority and purity to play the title role. The image of that actor should not dominate the character he is playing. He should look soft. But there should be enormous strength behind that soft look. Krishna Vamsi felt that all these qualities are present in Arjun who showed these qualities in his Oke Okkadu film in which Arjun looked so soft, but showed power as CM. There is a tale that says that Lord Anjaneya got married to Suvarchala, who is called Suvarchalanjaneyam. Krishna Vamsi needed a girl to play a village belle with lots of sensuousness. She should also match the tenderness of the hero. She should be bubbly in nature. Vamsi felt that Charmi has got all these qualities. Krishna Vamsi is spending a whopping amount of Rs. 6 crores on the visual effects of Sri Anjaneyam. Technical directors from visual effects department of Disney studios - who worked for Hollywood films - are creating visual effects for Sri Anjaneyam. The visual effects are also being created by technicians from various countries like Germany, Canada and Hong Kong. SP Balasubramanyam dubbed for hero Arjun.
