Good Family Flick
The movie had lots of expectations prior to its release. Sri Raghava and Venkatesh's combination is one of the reason for us to expect high. Adding to that, all the songs were awesome with some meaningful lyrics after a long time. Trisha adds the spice.
The Story:
Ganesh (Venki) is an aged, job-less guy. He always depends on his father (Kota) for the money and keeps on trying for the job but fails in the interviews everytime. In the process, he falls in love with Keerthi (Trisha), an IT project manager. To impress, he manages to get the job in her company. He proposes to her after sometime. Asusual, she rejects him saying that she is already engaged to Vasu (Sri Ram). Seeing his son's attempts, Ganesh's father comes to the scene to convince her. But adding to rejection, Keerthi even slaps him. Ganesh's father dies with heart-attack on the same night. What happens next? How Ganesh succeeds in getting Keerthi's love back by making her realize her fault forms the rest of the story!
Performances:
Venkatesh is extremely good in his role of Ganesh. He himself carries the whole film on his shoulders with the support of Kota and Trisha. He had done the comedy, romance and sentiment in an outstanding manner. The role etched by Raghava suited perfectly for Venkatesh. Kota Srinivasa Rao is very good in the father's role (though its repetitive Trisha had excelled in her role and looked better after a long time. She got a good role to perform. Swati ('Colors' fame), Sri Ram ('Okariki Okaru' fame) and Suneel were also too good in their roles.
Direction:
Though the story is an old fashioned one, Sri Raghava narrates it in an interesting way (Though moves at a very slow pace in the 1st half). He got inspired from many of the previous Venkatesh's films where the hero falls in love with an engaged heroine. Known for his creativity and innovation in the script work, Sri Raghava falters by selecting the routine story line. But he tried to compensate that with some great episodes in the 2nd half of the film. He worked out a great chemistry between the father and his son. The episode in which the father dies is heart-touching. He had ended the movie in a routine style with no experimentation.
Technical:
Yuvan Shankar Raja had given some extra-ordinary songs for the film and they were perfectly picturized by the director. But the choreography should have been better. The re-recording is also awesome. He is the saving grace for otherwise a dull film. Bala Murugan's cinematography and Kola Bhaskar's editing work were good.
