'Avunanna Kadanna' is a typical Teja's film. The movie is good compared to his past two flops - Jai and Dhairyam. Uday Kiran is back after a long gap and he is in full form. The movie Completely belongs to him with his excellent performance. It has a predictable story but the screenplay and direction by Teja did play its role. Cinematography is good. The Second half of the movie is a bit boring but on the whole it is an average movie and can be watched.
Story: Mangaraju (Pilla Prasad) is the dreaded landlord of Lanka. He forcibly grabs the lands and farms of farmers in Lanka. He grabs the land of Ravi's father. Ravi (Uday Kiran) who grew up in a nearby village after growing up, returns to Lanka to claim his land. He gives a dappu performance on the birthday of Mangaraju and impresses him. When Mangaraju asks him what gift he wants, Ravi asks for his rightful land that was grabbed from his father. Mangaraju keeps his word. Ravi starts ploughing this land. He also falls in love with a village belle Aravinda (Sada). Aravinda happens to be the grand daughter of Mangaraju. Mangaraju disapproves this love, and separates them. The second half is all about how Ravi and Aravinda reunite to get married.
Music:Music by RP Patnaik is impressive. 'Malinam Kanidi Prema', 'Avunanna Kaadanna', 'Suvvi Suvvi Suvvalamma' are the pick opf the lot.
Performance: Uday Kiran improved his histrionics by leaps and bounds in this film. Sada is pretty charming as village belle. Pilla Prasad (of Sri Anjaneyam fame) is adequate as villain.
Verdict Above Average
