Allu Arjun, the son of ace producer Allu Arvind is launched with a dream project directed by K Raghavendra Rao. He did well in his debut role. Vijayan composed good fights for Arjun in the climax. This is the 100th film of noted director K Raghavendra Rao. The film had the combination of ace producer Aswanidutt and another top producer Allu Aravind as its presenter. The subject is a love story.

Coming to the story, there is a factionist called Neelakantha Naidu (Prakashraj) and Narasimha (Suman) is his trusted lieutenant. Neelakantha craves for children and he begets a girl child. The priests say that she is a lucky girl, but has Jala Gandam (risk with water). One top astrologer advises Neelakantha that he could avoid that problem by giving her a holy bath at 'Gangotri' in the Himalayas. He only names her as Gangotri (Aditi Agarwal). Neelakantha loves his daughter so much that he would rather give his life for her welfare. He pampers her so much. When none can console the crying Gangotri, Simhadri's (Allu Arjun) song and flute makes her laugh. So Neelakantha appoints Simhadri to take care of Gangotri. They grow together and become good friends. Their friendship is so great that Simhadri did not allow even air to cause injury to her and saves her from all odds. Once, she accidentally falls in a well and gets saved by Simhadri.

Narasimha's wife (Sita) worries over her family as Narasimha is ready to sacrifice his life for his mentor, while her son also followed suit and ready to die for Neelakantha's daughter. So, the entire family turns trusted confidants to Neelakantha's family. Neelakantha had a bitter rival (Benarjee), who always wants to take revenge against him. He derives a plan and Narasimha comes to know about it. He calls his wife and tells her to save Neelakantha's life. In the process, she loses her life.
When Gangotri attains puberty, her aunt (Telangana Sakuntala) prevents Simhadri from meeting her. She plants seeds of suspicion in the mind of Neelakantha, when Simhadri meets Gangotri secretly. Ignoring that Simhadri saved the life of Gangotri, and the services of his parents to him, Neelakantha beats him black and blue. Narasimha reaches the spot and warns Neelakantha and his henchmen against beating his son. Presuming that Narasimha hatched a plan to eliminate him, Neelakantha bombs him when Simhadri was away. Then Simhadri tells Neelakantha that so far he and Gangotri were friends and because of his suspicion, he started loving Gangotri. He challenges him that he would marry Gangotri within a year. He escapes from the hands of Neelakantha's followers and reaches Gangotri in Himalayas as he knows very well that his lady love will come there for the 'holy bath'. A hotel owner Sastry (Tanikella Bharani) helps him in making his love success. In the climax, Simhadri takes away Gangotri but gets stabbed in the hands of Neelakantha. At the behest of her aunt, Gangotri attempts suicide by jumping into the Ganga. Finally, it is the music from the flute of Simhadri that brings life in Gangotri. The story ends on a happy note.

On the looks front, Arjun is average but gave good performance. But his dancing talent has gone unnoticed because of not having many mass tunes in this film. Aditi Agarwal looks pretty. In the second half, she looks glamorous, especially in the song of 'Nuvvu Nenu Kalisunte'. Prakash Raj has the same routine role. The entire film is dominated by Prakash Raj. Suman and Sita had small roles. Photography by Chota K Naidu is good. Music by Keeravani is melodious and they were well choreographed.
