'Golmaal' The film is basically an entertainer. It is directed and produced by PN Ramachandra Rao. Two well-known heroes were chosen for the lead roles, while two new faces were opted to pair opposite them. Both of them were restricted to songs and had absolutely no choice to perform.

As for the story, there are two childhood friends of different religions Aamir Khan (JD Chakravarthy) and Amaranatha Sastry (Ramesh Aravind). While Aamir dreams of going to the US and earn dollars, Amar is a practical man, who wanted to do a job to maintain his grandmother, mother and sister. Both of them complete their M Sc and B Ed. Aamir's father (Giribabu) insists on him to go to Hyderabad and join a college as lecturer, the former was of the view to go to the US. At this juncture, Amar loses his job and desperate to join somewhere to lead his family. Aamir convinces Amar to go in his place and join the college as lecturer, while he wanted to go to the US.

Golmaal

The scene at Hyderabad is something different. There are two heads of educational institutions, who were bitter foes professionally. They are Narahari (Jayaprakash Reddy), a landlord of 1,000 acre, who was running an educational institution. While the other is Abdullah (Avinash) runs another college. Aamir's father and Abdullah are bosom friends, but he did never see Aamir after he grew up. So, Amar settles as lecturer in Abdullah's college as Aamir. At the instance of Abdullah, Amar settles in the quarters of Kokila [Brahmanandam], a drill teacher. Amar faces a typical problem when he breaks a coconut in the temple belongs to Narahari. While the temple priest (Thotapalli Madhu) claims that Amar broke the coconut in the temple, Abdullah claims that he is not Amar but Aamir. Narahari's daughter Meenakshi (Meera Vasudevan) lies that he is not the person, whom she came across in the temple. On learning that Meenakshi loved him, Amar tells her the entire story. When the priest and Kokila wanted to prove that he is not Muslim, the real Aamir comes to his rescue claiming that he was Amar.

Golmaal

Aamir tells Amar that he was cheated by Gafoor Khan, who promised him to send to the US. Once Aamir comes across Gafoor Khan and thrash him severely. Aamir believes that he killed Gafoor Khan and returns to Hyderabad. After that the story gets several twists. Aamir joins the college run by Narahari as lecturer in the name of Amar. In order to unwind the whole story, Aamir hatches a plan and as part of it he tells Narahari that he trapped Mumtaj (Neha Pendse), daughter of Abdullah into love. Narahari arranges their marriage to gave a blow to Abdullah. But, at the time of marriage, Gafoor Khan resurfaces and kidnaps, Amar, Aamir and Meenakshi. On learning this, Abdullah and Narahari together go to the place and save all the three. The story ends on a happy note with the bitter foes turn friends to save the boys and girl.
Comedians like Brahmanandam, Potti Prasad, Sudhakar, Thotapalli Madhu, AVS and Raghubabu tried their best to keep the audiences in good humour. Heroines showed good ease in dance sequences and looked glamorous. There are no vulgar scenes nor there are any obscene gestures. Tunes by Vandemataram Srinivas are good.
