'Kabbadi Kabbadi' is a rural love story. It is a clean and neat love story which involves the sport Kabadi. The hero has to win Kabadi to win his love. Good comedy and perfect selection of artistes is the highlight of the movie. Dialogues by Satish are good. Director Venki had prepared the story, with an inspiration from 'Lagaan', for nativity, he chose kabaddi sport.

Rambabu (Jagapatibabu) is the son of a handloom weaver (Tanikella Bharani) in Venkannapalem. He neither helps his father in his job nor he does anything constructive in life. He just passes his time moving with vagabonds like friends from different age groups, who spend the time by playing cards. Kaveri (Kalyani) is the sister of the village head (Surya) of Sakhinetipalli, who was once a good kabaddi player and he loves his sister and the kabaddi sport equally. The kabaddi team of Sakhinetipally turns famous with winning 99 games with the nearby villages.

Rambabu falls in love with Kaveri and she also likes him very much. However, Kaveri's brother objects to their love saying that he did not want to give his sister to a vagabond like Rambabu. So the latter challenges that he would win over Sakhinetipally in its 100th game and questions whether he could marry his sister to him. Kaveri's brother accepts the challenge.
Rambabu takes the help of his friends and prepares a team. Though none of them do know anything about the kabaddi sport, they get coaching from a drillmaster (MS Narayana). With several initial hiccups, the team gets ready and on the D-Day all of them get ready for a straight competition with the champion team. The Sakhinetipally team plays foul and hits hard on the stomach of Rambabu. With all his team members became out, he is the only man who has to score points. Prompted and encouraged by his father and his love, Rambabu wins the game.

Jagapatibabu as Rambabu performed well. Kalyani looks beautiful. Comedy is good all through the film. Music by Chakri is okay. Entire movie was shot in beautiful greenary of 'Konaseema'.
