Muddula Koduku's basic storyline tells the importance of inner beauty, it is very different from the stories of regular films. Screenplay of the film is pretty slow. Direction is good in parts and is pretty old fashioned catering to the segment of women. Too much emphasize laid on sentimental scenes.

Story:
Venu (Ravikrishna) is young man, his mother's pet. The story revolves around Venu's emotions and his life which is ruled by a facial disfigurement - a huge scar that is so obvious that people either constantly poke fun at him, or are petrified of him! Venu works hard to save money for a plastic surgery to remove the scar - one shift at a factory where Prakash Raj, who is sort of a mentor also works; and one shift at a pizza joint, where he wears a mask to cover his face while on the job. Priya (Sanjita) is a co-worker at the pizza place and eventually Venu falls in love with her, but has never shown her his face out of the mask, so she doesn't really know what he looks like. Kani (Gopika) and her family are Venu's neighbours, and she has developed a soft spot for Venu through the years, but to Venu, Kani is just a friend. One day, when Kani and Venu are out shopping, Priya sees Venu and his hideous scar. She drops a glass item she is holding at the shock of seeing his face, but she of course doesn't know it is Venu. Sometime later at work, Venu walks in on Priya's conversation when she tells a friend about the incident and how horrified she was. At that point, Venu walks up to her and pulls off his mask saying, "I'm the owner of this face - if you dislike it so much, I quit," and walks out. He then joins the garbage collection company Onyx. Venu's double-shift work schedule continues and he saves up enough money for his surgery. Then, Venu's elder married sister comes to their mother and requests for some money to buy her husband an auto-rickshaw, at which the mother in turn asks Venu if he can help out. Furious with both of them, Venu refuses. His mother goes to Prakash Raj for advice, and he suggests if Venu were to be married off to Kani, he would have no worries about his scar NOT attracting any women, and would then be more open to parting with his money. Again, Venu is furious that everyone seems to think that his "face will only be worth Kani" and not some other "attractive" woman. In a fit of rage, he throws terrible tantrums, fighting with his neighbours and walking out of his house. At work, he gets a call informing him that his mom has had a heart attack and he needs to rush back with some finances to fund her treatment. Unfortunately, he is too late, and his mom dies by the time he reaches. Distraught, he realises how shallow he had been and how he could only appreciate the value of family at the loss of his mother. Depressed, he gives all the money to his sister. At the end, Venu sees Kani returning home and a new light and emotion fills him. He asks Kani if he could walk with her for a while. And then he asks her if he could walk with her, be with her for the rest of his life. Kani and Venu get married…

Performance:
Revathy is pretty natural in the role of mother. Gopika is lovely as the unassuming girl-next-door showering mute love on Ravi Krishna. Sanjitha is adequate in the small yet vital role. Prakash Raj is good as the mentor.

Vidya Sagar's Music is average.
Verdict:
Average.
