'Raghavendra' is a mass movie. Suresh Krishna used his strength of narrating mass story in this film. Posani Krishna Murali wrote some good dialogues for this film. But as a screenplay writer, he has not taken care of the flashback well. The picturization of the first song 'Nammina Naamadi' is good. The best part of the movie is good background music by Mani. Kanal Kannan has done a great job for the fights in this film. Special effects and camera tricks are used for composing fights.

Coming to story, Raghavendra called as Raghava (Prabhas) is an aggressive youth. He can't stand injustice before his eyes. He beats them black and blue, however strong they are. His father is a bank employee (Muralimohan) and mother is a housewife (Prabha). They always plead with him to maintain his cool, which he did never listen. Once he bashes the henchmen of Ankineedu (Anandraj), a politician. He bores grudge against Raghav. Meanwhile, Raghav falls in love with a girl called Sirisha (Anshu), whom Ankineedu kills in front of Raghav. Raghav's parents blame him for Sirisha's death. Later Ankineedu warns Raghav's parents to get out of the town or face death of the entire family. Raghav could not digest his parents hating him and pleads with them to allow him to stay with them. They accept it on certain conditions that he should not react or irritate for any injustice that happens before him. So he turns a saint. All this was portrayed in the flashback.

Raghavendra

Raghav and his parents go to Mantralayam, where his uncle (Kota Srinivasa Rao) runs a hotel. Raghav turns a saint and stops giving any reaction, whatever that happen before his eyes. He did not react even the goons, again the same henchmen of Ankineedu teases his sister-in-law Mahalakshmi (Swetha Agarwal) by cutting her hair. When Mahalakshmi gives a complaint to the police against the goons, they strips her on the road. Raghav instead of attacking them, runs to the police station and withdraws the complaint. Raghav's uncle chides him like anything and calls him a nincompoop. Even he calls Raghav's father by names saying that he gave birth to a person, who has no hot blood. Then the latter realises what mistake he did and tells Raghavendra that he need not control his anger and take revenge against the anti-social elements. How Raghavendra again turned the 'old' Raghav and took revenge is the climax.

Raghavendra

Anshu and Swetha Agarwal looked pretty. Prabha, who appeared on the screen after a long gap looked good. Murali Mohan did a decent portrayal as the father of hero. The director lost grip in the second half. Especially the carrot episode was stretched to an intolerable extent. Prabhas looked absolutely ravishing with his 'Raghavendra' getup. He gave good performance. The item song with Simran was choreographed well. Villain Anand Raj suited the character of tonsured mafia leader. Brahmanandam's comedy is good. To sum up Raghavendra is a good film to watch once.
