Shiva Shankar's story is heavily inspired from Tom Hanks classic, Road to Perdition with some scenes and dialogues taken from the original. But sadly the Telugu nativity is not worked out well and the film fails to leave an impression in the second half. Direction by Kapuganti Rajendra is not up to the mark.

Story:Sobhanadri (Raja Murad), a mafia leader picks up an orphan Sivaji (Mohan Babu) from the streets and brings him up as his own son. Hemadri (Riaz Khan), the real son of Sobhanadri is jealous of Sivaji and does not like his father’s great love for the foster son. Hemadri murders a judge in a fit of rage and Sobhanadri gives the power of attorney of his assets to Sivaji!
An angry Hemadri plans to assassinate Sivaji’s family and kills his wife (Soundarya) and one son. Sivaji takes the other son and goes away from Vizag to Bailukuppe monastery (near Mysore) to become a monk. He changes his name to Shiv Shankar and donates all the money he inherited from Sobhanadri to the monastery. The rest of the story is all about Hamadri’s frantic search for Sivaji.
Music: Music by Ilayaraja is melodious.
Performance: Mohan Babu plays to the galleries and he has come out with a good performance. Soundarya is good and the heart goes out to the actress who is no more. Natanya Singh is there for glamour and Raza Murad hams. Riaz Khan as the hot-blooded guy is convincing, while comedy of Venu Madhav and gang is below the belt.
