'Siddham' is remake of Hind movie 'Ab Tak Chappan' starring Nana Patekar. It
is a complete action oriented movie, a Mafia flick. The story and screenplay
is adapted from the original movie. Director JD Chakri was no where near to
the original version, screenplay and narration lacked grip and had many
loopholes.
Story:
Daya (Jagapati Babu) is a sincere cop and an encounter specialist. He
handles his job professionally and does not hold anything personal. Salim
(Kota Prasad) is his assistant who is greedy about increasing the encounters
count so that he could get more publicity from the media. The city
commissioner (Kota) is retired and a new commissioner takes the charge. The
new commissioner has his own agenda and he discourages Daya from performing
his duty in fair manner. The rest of the story is all about how Daya takes
law into his hands and cleans up the mafia gang in his own indomitable
style.
Music:
Background music suits the atmosphere, since this is also copied from
original movie, no credits to Amar Mohale.
Performance:
Jagapati Babu did justice to his character, his body language and diction
were apt. Sindhu Menon looked good and that's about it. Kota Prasad was good
as Salim. All other supporting cast were just about okay.
Verdict:
In a nutshell, Siddham lacks tight screenplay, which is one of the major
asset of action oriented mafia movies. Watch only if you are Jagapati Babu's
fan, else you can just skip this one. 'Sidham' can be rated as a below
average movie. | |
