'Swamy' is a routine run of the mill story. Hero fails to get justice legally, so he takes the law into his hands and takes revenge on the villain. Director VR Pratap gave a good treatment to the subject penned by Posani Krishnamurali.

Story:The film starts with the hero taking revenge against a cab driver Yadagiri (Chalapati Rao). The police (Benarjee and Raghubabu) reach the medical college hostel in search of the culprit, but could not take them into custody, as the students stand like a wall. In addition, the Medical College prinicipal Bharati hands over the post-mortem report to the police that the victim died in a road accident and was not killed by anyone. Here comes the flashback. Venugopala Swamy, popular as Swamy (Harikrishna) is a rice mill owner. Kanakamahalakshmi (Meena) is his wife. Swamy has two twin sisters Sita (Uma) and Gita (Uma). Sita and Gita get good ranks in Eamcet and join medical college. Anand (Rajiv Kanakala) is a senior student, who pretends that he is saving them from ragging. He throws a party on the birthday of Sita and Gita like their well-wisher and rapes Gita by giving her some sedative. He makes her believe that it was accidental. He makes her a promise to marry and both of them go to Sita, saying that they were in love. On another occasion, Anand rapes Sita also with the help of a nurse, on a promise to marry her. One day, Sita comes to know that Gita is pregnant and both of them go to Anand for an explanation.





Anand's cruel motives come out as he reveals that he had raped both of them. In a fit of anger, Anand thrashes them severely and they fell unconscious. Fearing that they were dead, he calls up his father Koteswara Rao (Jayaprakash Reddy) and reveals everything. He sends a taxi driver called Yadagiri, to the guesthouse to dispose off the bodies. As usual, Yadagiri brings those bodies to a specified place in the forest to set them afire. Koteswara Rao and his friend Bapineedu (Mohanraj) find that they are still alive. In order to save his son Koteswara Rao burns them alive. Anand takes the nurse, who is in love with him to his house, only to get a refusal from his parents. He sarcastically tells that girl to sacrifice her love, but the latter blackmails him. In a fit of rage, he thrashes her too, but she escapes from the spot and reaches the medical college and explains how Sita and Gita were molested to Bharati, Swamy and other college students and shows their bodies too. Swamy recognises the bodies with the golden anklets. The case goes to the court, but Koteswara Rao's lawyer Umapati (Tanikella Bharani) with the help of doctor Subba Reddy (Jeeva) proves that the bodies are not that of Sita and Gita, with a fictitious post-mortem report. Then Swamy decides to take revenge on his own. One after the other, he eliminates all those who were involved in the death of his two sisters.

Music by Keeravani is flat with no melody.
Performance:
Harikrishna did justice to his role. Meena looked quite charming. After a long gap, Amani appeared on the screen in an elderly character. Uma, who played a dual role as Sita and Gita, did justice to her characters. She was able to show good expressions in both the characters. Anand was perfect in his role as a villain. Jayaprakash Reddy, Mohanraj, Tanikella Bharani, Jeeva, Benarjee and Raghubabu were in their usual best.
