Title 'Bharathasimha Reddy' has nothing to do with the film. The story is also not related to Rayalaseema anyway. With a title like that public may be fooled that it might be on the same tracks as 'Narsimha Reddy' or 'Samarasimha Reddy'. But the movie is no way near to those tracks. It is a rather boring and senseless movie. Rajshekar as Raja looks more like a cartoon than a hero in the movie.

Rajasekhar plays a double role, as father and son. Raja (Rajasekhar) who grew up with hate towards his father Devudayya alias Bharathasimha Reddy (Rajasekhar again) believes that his father killed his mother and living with some other woman (Ravali). He doesn't live with the father and doesn't eat at home. But the fact is that Devudayya is only a victim of his family's betrayal. His wife (Meena) acts against his wishes, so he walks out on his wife along with the child.
A family who is a friend of Devudayya brought up raja as a child. Raja grows up, and so does his hatred towards Dad. After a few nasty brawls between the dad-son duo, Raja comes to know the fact behind his parent's separation. Bharathasimha Reddy
Meanwhile Raja falls in love with a girl Santhi (Gajala) and both of them decide to marry. But Santhi's father Pasupathi is against this and decides to marry off the daughter with some other guy. Learning this Raja comes on the engagement day to disturb the match. There he encounters a fight with Pasupathi's men and when they try to kill him suddenly Meena appears and stops the fight and reveals that Raja is her own son.
Actually Devudayya is an archrival of Pasupati 'cause he was the one who is involved in the separating his wife (Meena) from him.
After the flashback scene of Devudayya. Raja with full of anger and hatred against Pasupati confronts pasupati and his men and realizes that he was wrong for his hatred towards his dad and apologizes to him. This forms the climax of the film.
When the trend in Tollywood movies is launching many new younger generation heroes. The senior generation should select their movies more carefully to survive on the big screen. To sum up Bharathasimha Reddy is a below average movie with poor screenplay and poor music.
