Tejas Dhanraj, an award winning TV serial director, entered into big screen through 'Tapana'. Noted heroine of yesteryears Jayaprada's nephew Siddarth has been introduced as one of the heroes in this film. The film is based on love subject with college as its backdrop. Dhanraj's direction was not impressive, the entire film was narrated very slowly. It was more like a TV serial than a film.

Story Sidhu (Siddarth) is the son of an industrialist. His father always wanted to see him in a top position, but Sidhu remains an average student. After completion of high school studies, Sidhu joins college along with four of his friends. Ridhima (Archana) is his close friend and all the six are good friends right from the school days. When a senior tries to rag Neelima, Sidhu tries to prevent and a small fight ensues. The principal orders Sidhu to bring his father. In order to get himself saved from the embarrassing scene, Sidhu approaches Chiru (Ali), a hardcore fan of Chiranjeevi, who always mimics the Mega Star. He in turn suggests Venu (Prabhudeva) to accompany Sidhu. At this juncture, Sidhu happens to see Meera (Maahi) and falls in love at first sight. He sincerely accepts that he fell in love with her because she is very attractive and sexy. However, Meera leaves for the US unexpectedly and Venu becomes very curious. After her return, Meera accepts his love. However, Meera's father (Eswara Rao) reveals a bitter truth that his daughter was suffering from an incurable disease, which will make her physically-challenged in a short period and will have to lead her remaining life in wheel chair.

Sidhu could not digest the fact and fails to take a decision whether to continue his love or forget. As he was attracted towards her beauty and sexy look, he could not imagine to lead his life with a physically challenged wife. When Sidhu was suffering from this mental torture, his parents decide to get him married to change his mood. Because they know very well that Ridhima knows Sidhu pretty well right from his childhood, she could console him and bring him out of the bad mood. So they propose to Ridhima. She refuses to the alliance first because they are just friend and did never thought of marrying him. However, she accepts the alliance only to bring his friend out from the love failure mood. On the other hand, Venu had a ladylove called Sandhya (Seema). Though Sandhya suffered an acid attack Venu marries her, because he loves her soul. Here, Sidhu realizes that beauty of soul is a must for anyone rather than the bodily beauty. Finally, Sidhu meets Meera. The film comes to an end with their union.
Music
Songs are not impressive. There is no melody in the music.
Performance
Siddarth showed good ease and gave a natural performance. He played well in emotional scenes. Prabhudeva did a commendable job as a matured lover. Seema and Archana did a decent job in the film as the lover of Prabhudeva and friend of Siddartha respectively. Ali gave a good comedy imitating Chiranjeevi and other artistes.
