'Vinayakudu' by debutante Sai Kiran Adivi is promising and is a good start to his career as a director. He handled the story well. The movie runs very smoothly and does provide good entertainment.
Story :
Karthik (Krishnudu) is a happy go lucky softhearted guy. He has a very big personality because of which is not taken seriously by any girl. He works at 'Hi-Rise' an ad agency. There he meets Kalpana (Sonia) and starts liking her. Kalpana
too doesn't care for him and finds faults with him, due to their initial interactions at work. Slowly though, she starts
interacting with him more. Her parents, who leave to USA to visiting her brother's family (Mahesh & Aparna), initiate a matrimonial alliance for Kalpana with Rajeev (Samrat). Kalpana meets Rajeev and they both observe that they have a lot of
tastes in common. Meanwhile, another thread of a budding relation is seen between Karthik's friend Altaf (Suryatej) and
Kalpana's friend Sandhya a.k.a. Sandy (Poonam Kaur). At about the same time that Kalpana realizes Rajeev is not for her, she
gets closer to Karthik but the hell gets loose suddenly due to a petty altercation between Altaf and Sandy. Eventually,
Karthik and Kalpana lose even the friendly relation they have. What happens next forms the crux of the movie.
Performances :
Krishnudu, one of the seniors of Happy Days, debuts as the main lead in this film. Sonia perfectly fits in the role of an
ultramodern girl. Her role is etched well, and seems to be a tailor made role for her. Suryatej as the second male lead was
apt. Poonam Kaur looks cute and fits perfectly in the role of a friend of Sonia.
Music :
Music is melodious and lyrics are good and trendy. lyrics of 'Hum Hain Hyderabadi' are very trendy. 'Saradaga Ee Samayam'
and 'Naalo Vedane' are melodious and has sweet lyrics.
Verdict :
'Vinayakudu' has a good storyline and screenplay and direction is apt. Since the movie does not have any mass appeal might
not fair well in 'B' and 'C' centers. Overall can be rated as average. | |
